    Eratosthenes of Cyrene (; Ancient Greek: Ἐρατοσθένης[eratostʰénɛːs]; c. 276 BC – c. 195/194 BC) was an Ancient Greek polymath: a mathematician, geographer, poet, astronomer, and music theorist.
