He was an Olympic and world champion and the first man to jump more than 60ft. But ask people for one other thing they know about Jonathan Edwards and the answer would likely be his Christian faith.
It was the cornerstone of life for the triple-jumper, even costing him a place at the 1991 World Championships after he refused to compete on a Sunday.
But then, 16 years later, he simply lost his faith.

“I just stopped believing in God and I don’t think it was anything more complicated than that,” he says by way of explanation.
