I’ve never believed that timing is everything — but it sure does help sometimes!

After 35 years, four months and 20 days writing for daily newspapers across this great country, my last day as a staff columnist for the Calgary Herald and Calgary Sun is today.

Then, just three days later, my husband of almost 35 years is having open-heart surgery for either a triple bypass or quadruple bypass. I won’t go into all of the details, but trust me when I say that the way this all came together was serendipity on steroids!

Stephen and I have witnessed God’s hand in all of this — which is a story in itself that I don’t have space to go into.
